Intra-Oral
Camera Explained
There's a new device that enables both a dentist and a patient see into the mouth. It's called an intra-oral camera and it is now allowing patients to see inside their own mouth in a whole new way. An intra-oral camera is a small camera that is no bigger than a large ball point pen. Despite it's small size, this device can capture images of your mouth 40 times it's normal size. The camera is connected with a video monitor that captures the images. These images are stored and used to more completely evaluate your mouth. Mira Costa Dental utilizes this dental technology to provide better results during an evaluation. The camera not only provides it's viewers with never before seen "close up" images of the mouth, it also helps patients better understand their mouth and oral health needs. back to procedures page |
